What Our Customers Are Saying

April, one of my friends, Gayle, called East End yesterday and had a very pleasant experience with one of your people, Torie. Gayle's daughter lives in Washington, D.C. and Gayle wants to move all her apartment stuff up there sometime this summer. Torie was very courteous and helpful. I think Gayle will use you. Just thought I would send you a happy note about your company. Have a great day today.

The key to a smooth move is organization. Based on our years of experience, we have compiled a series of helpful moving tips to assist you in organizing and planning your next move.

  • Packing Tips

Good packing is essential for a stress-free move. If you choose to do some or all of your own packing, it is especially important that you're familiar with the packing techniques and moving boxes that will best protect your possessions.

View the information on United Van Lines Web site for best packing practices.

Or, if you would rather leave the packing to someone else, contact us for a packing services estimate.

  • Weekly Moving Reminders

Use our printable moving reminder to help make your move. You can also sign up for weekly e-mail reminders and United will e-mail you each week during the eight weeks leading up to your move.

  • Instant Aid Box

Pack a Movers Instant Aid Box containing things that might be needed immediately upon arrival at your new home. Package each group of items in a large paper bag or box and clearly label and carry your Instant Aid Box with you instead of loading it in the moving truck.

  • Non-Allowables List

United Van Lines provides a list of some common non-allowable items that cannot be shipped because they represent a hazard or are perishable. Make sure you know what you can and can't load on the truck before moving day.
